Maternity Outfit Ideas for Summer

dreamingloud 2024-08-27 12:09:12

I’m excited to bring you some summer maternity outfit ideas! During my first pregnancy, I had a blast styling my bump with cozy fall and winter outfits (check out those posts here). Layering soft sweaters and accessorizing with scarves was so much fun. This time, I’m enjoying the challenge of dressing for the summer heat. The pieces I’m sharing are non-maternity but pregnancy-friendly, ensuring you stay comfy and stylish even on the hottest days. without further ado, let’s get into the post.

This is part of an ongoing series on my Instagram, where I’ll add more outfits regularly. Be sure to check back for fresh outfit ideas!

Summer Pregnancy Outfit Ideas

1. Mini Dress

Mini dresses are perfect for keeping you cool in the summer heat. Look for babydoll-style dresses or dresses with stretchy fabric to accommodate your growing belly and provide comfort. I love wearing bright, patterned mini-dresses that add a playful touch to my summer wardrobe.

Personal Tip: I styled this cute mini dress from Target in 2 ways- one casual with comfy wedges for a casual look, dress it up with sandals and a mesh cardigan for a formal look. I prefer flowy dresses in summer as they ensure comfort throughout the day.

2. Maxi Dress

Maxi dresses are a summer staple and perfect for maternity wear. The flowing fabric provides plenty of room for your growing bump, while the airy design keeps you cool. One of my favorites is a lightweight, floral maxi dress with a cinched waist that accentuates the bump beautifully. This dress is flowy and screams vacation vibes.

3. White Elastic Waist Skirt

The elastic waistband provides both comfort and flexibility, effortlessly adapting to a growing belly without being restrictive. This skirt is incredibly versatile, easily transitioning from casual to dressy depending on your style. I paired it with a trendy crochet vest and added a shell pearl necklace for a summery vibe.

4. Linen Pants

Linen pants are a must-have for a summer pregnancy offering unmatched comfort and movement during the warmer months. These are the comfiest pants I have ever tried, they are my go-to for doctor appointments. While they do wrinkle easily, the comfort they offer more than makes up for it.

Look for dresses made from breathable fabrics like cotton or chiffon, in bright summer colors that are perfect for staying cool while feeling dressed up, whether you’re heading to a summer party or just enjoying a day out.

6. Smocked Floral Dress

This is the perfect summer-to-fall transitional dress for fall family pictures or any event. The smocked detailing makes it convenient for a growing belly and is also breastfeeding-friendly. You can easily switch from sandals to boots for a seamless transition into fall. Add a cozy cardigan or a light jacket, and you’re all set for those crisp autumn days.
